CNC machine monitoring
CNC machine monitoring, live and in the cloud
Undrd Control shows every connected CNC machine and inspection camera on one screen, in every plant: whether it is reporting, what it is doing, and what needs someone now. An edge unit beside each machine reads the controller and reports outward to a dashboard that runs as a managed cloud service, so there is no server of your own to install.
Every connected machine reports whether its edge agent is online. The rest depends on what its controller exposes: run state, loaded program, spindle and feed, alarms and the parts count come only from controllers that report them, so what your controllers expose is the first thing we check.
What each machine reports, live
Every edge agent sends a heartbeat and pushes each change as it happens. A change on the controller reaches the dashboard within seconds, and a keepalive confirms the link every 15 seconds, so a running machine is easy to tell from one that has gone quiet.
- Online, late or offline for every machine, with the time it was last heard; readings dim as they age
- On controllers the agent can check, a separate state when the agent is online but the controller is not answering, so you know whether to check the network or the machine
- Run state, the program that is really running (recognised by its content, not its file name), spindle and feed, on controllers that report them
- Active controller alarms, on controllers that report them, with their description from the machine manual where one exists
- Tool wear against its limit, and every correction the agent writes, logged per tool
Inspection cameras on the same screen
An inspection camera reports to the same dashboard as the machines. Each verdict arrives with its defect class and confidence, and defect frames are kept, so an operator can see exactly what the model saw.
- Pass rate, throughput and defect breakdown per device, per plant and across the fleet
- Quality events with a formal disposition, and an audit log of who changed what
- Link a camera to the machine it inspects, and its verdicts count towards that machine's quality
Cloud-based monitoring, with your network kept closed
Undrd Control is delivered as a managed cloud service and opened in a browser, in English or Portuguese. Only the edge agent sits on your network, and it always connects outward over HTTPS: no ports to open, no firewall changes.
- If the internet drops, the agent keeps measuring and correcting on the machine, and its data waits in a durable outbox until the link returns
- Alerts when a machine goes offline (after 10 minutes by default), a command stalls, an upload backlog grows or a controller that reports alarms raises one, in the dashboard, by email or as a push notification
- Access scoped by role from organisation to plant to machine, with an audit log of who changed what
- What leaves the plant is agreed with you before the system goes live
Questions
What people ask about this
Which machines can be monitored?
Any CNC machine whose controller we can connect to. Today that is the GSK 980TD, GSK 980TC3 and GSK 988TA / 988TA1 / 988TB, the Fanuc 0i and 30i series, and Fanuc with a Data Server board; another controller is one more adapter behind the same interface. Every connected machine reports its link state; run state, program, spindle, feed and alarms come from the controllers that expose them.
Do I need to install a server?
No. The dashboard is a managed cloud service, so the servers are ours to install, patch and run. In the plant there is an edge unit beside each machine and nothing else.
Who sees which machines?
Each person sees the plants they belong to, with access scoped by role from organisation to plant to machine, and an administrator can limit which roles see a given device.
